This tool adjusts the lightness of a selected area in an image. Lightness is a measure of how light or dark a color is. It is one of the three components of the HSL color model, along with hue and saturation. To adjust the lightness of an image, you need to load it in, and select the area of the image that you want to adjust. You can do this by adjusting a rectangle in the input preview area, or by specifying the exact parameters of the lightness area using numerical values for the left offset, top offset, width, and height of the area. Then, in the lightness parameter, you can specify the amount of lightness to be applied to the selected area. A value greater than 100% will make the area lighter, and a value less than 100% will make it darker. The output image format can be selected in the options. This can be a PNG, JPEG, or WebP image. In this example, we process an image of a green forest with sunlight streaming through. We select a rectangular area in the center of the image, offset by 60 pixels from all sides, and increase the lightness of this area to 120%.
