With this browser-based application, you can find a clock time that corresponds to the given angle between the hours and minutes hands on an analog clock. You can specify any angle in the options ranging from 0 to 180 degrees and you'll get all clock times that form this angle. You can also customize the output time format by adding or removing padding to time components and switching between 12- and 24-hour clock formats. Created by computer nerds from team Browserling.

This is a quick online utility for generating all clock times with clock hands having a particular angle. As you know, the minutes and hours hands in regular round clocks rotate at different speeds. The minutes hand goes around the clock every hour but the hours hand goes around the clock much slower. As a result, throughout the day, the angle between the hands varies from 0 to 180 degrees. For example, the angle of 90 degrees can be observed at 03:00 (3am), 15:00 (3pm), 09:00 (9am), and 21:00 (9pm) but the angle of 0 degrees (both hands overlap) is only possible at 00:00 (midnight) and 12:00 (noon). Our program is able to find all clock times for any given clock hands angle. You just need to enter the angle from 0 to 180 in the options section and our algorithm will do the calculation and print clock times in HH:MM format or HH:MM:SS format. For integer angles, the output will always be in HH:MM format but for fractional angles (such as 15.5 degrees), the number of seconds will also be included in the calculation and the output format will be HH:MM:SS. For example, 45 degrees can be observed at 04:30 (4:30am) but 45.15 degrees can be observed at 02:02:42 (2:02:42am). You can print the clock times in 12-hour or 23-hour formats, as well as control the zero padding of hours, minutes (and seconds) parts. Additionally, as there are multiple clock times for each angle, you can set the delimiter character for output times. If you are interested in calculating the opposite and finding the angle between the given clock hands, you can use our calculate clock hand angle tool. Timeabulous!

In this example, we find all time moments when the angle between hour and minute hands forms the right angle. The right angle is 90 degrees, so we enter this value in the options, and we get all time moments that satisfy this requirement. We use a padded 24-hour time format and separate the time moments with a comma.
In this example, we are calculating all clock hands that form a 36-degree angle on a round clock. As you can see, there are only 4 such clock hand positions, and we display them one per line in a 12-hour format without padding.
In this example, we enter a very small angle equal to one-tenth of a degree in the options. Our tool immediately runs through all possible clock hand combinations and gives us the answer – there are four times, which have a 0.1 degree angle. Because this angle is a decimal number, the answer also includes seconds. As you can see, these times happen at 4 am/pm and 7 am/pm. If you compare this result to the angle of 0 degrees (where the answer is noon and midnight), you can see that even a tiny change in the angle gets you radically different clock times.
You can pass options to this tool using their codes as query arguments and it will automatically compute output. To get the code of an option, just hover over its icon. Here's how to type it in your browser's address bar. Click to try!

We're Browserling — a friendly and fun cross-browser testing company powered by alien technology. At Browserling our mission is to make people's lives easier, so we created this collection of time and date tools. All our tools share the same user interface, so as soon as you learn how to use one of the tools, you'll be a master of all tools. Behind the scenes, our time and date tools are actually powered by our web developer tools that we created over the last couple of years. Check them out!
