In this example, we calculate the average of two calendar dates. To do this, we enter both dates formatted as "YYYY-MM-DD hh:mm:ss" to the input (one per line). Then we set the output date format to be the same as the input date format and get the middle point between the two dates as the result.
In this example, we find the rolling average of three dates. We switch the output date format to text format with a 12-hour clock time and abbreviated month and day of the week names. On the first line of output, the program displays the same 1st date (because the average of just one date is the same date). On the second line, the program prints the average of the 1st and 2nd dates. On the third line, the program returns the average of the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd dates.
In this example, we find the average of two calendar dates without the time part. We discard the clock time from the output date by using a custom average date format. To do this, we select the "Custom" format mode in the list of formats and enter the date pattern YYYY_MM_DD, which separates the year, month, and day by an underscore symbol.
In this example, we calculate the date and time of the middle point of a regular year, which has 365 days. The beginning of the year is 2023-01-01 00:00:00 and the end of the year is 2023-12-31 23:59:59. In the output, we get the midpoint of the year, which occurs in the summer of 2023-07-02 at exactly 12:00:00.
In this example, we find the median of the leap year 2024. This year consists of 366 days, which has one more day than a common year of 365 days. Because of this extra day, the midpoint of a leap year, as compared to a common year, is shifted by 12 hours, and is midnight of 2024-07-02.
This example finds the midpoint of the entire 21st century. The current century runs from "2000-01-01 00:00:00" to "2099-12-31 23:59:59" and has one hundred years in it. We paste the beginning and end dates of the century into the input and find that the middle of the 21st century equals "2049-12-31 12:00:00".
