With this browser-based application, you can convert a military clock to a regular clock that we use in daily life. We support several regular clock formats, including a 12-hour clock, 24-hour clock, and text time with time components spelled in English. You can also convert multiple military times at once (one per line) and adjust the padding of the clock components. Created by computer nerds from team Browserling.

This is a quick online utility for converting military time into civil time. Military time differs from the time we're accustomed to in that it has a shortened format. This format avoids using a semicolon for separating the time parts and it doesn't indicate the part of the day (there are no am/pm symbols). The most common military time formats are "hhmm", "hhmm hours", and "hhmmss". Military time formats "hh:mm", "hhmm:ss", and "hh:mm:ss" are also possible but they're less commonly used. Military time always uses the 24-hour clock format, so there is no need for am/pm symbols. For example, "1000" means "10:00am", "1430" means "2:30pm", "2344" means "11:44pm", and the time wraps to "0000" after "2359" (which is "11:59 pm"). This program can convert military time into three types of clocks: 12-hour clock, 24-hour clock, and text clock. For example, military time "1610" is "4:10 pm" in a 12-hour format, "16:10" in a 24-hour format, and "16 hours and 10 minutes" in a text clock format. You can choose which time format to use for conversion in the options. You can also enable the zero padding option and get the time as "04:10 pm", or disable this option and get the time as "4:10 pm". The tool supports multi-line input and you can enter several military times in the input area at once. Use a newline (enter) to separate each clock value and you'll get human time in the output area for each input value. If you want to do the opposite operation, you can use our Regular to Military Time Converter utility. Timeabulous!

In this example, we convert five military timers into regular 24-hour timers. The input military timer is given in the format "hhmm" and we turn it into a fully padded 24-hour timer "hh:mm:ss".
This example turns a three-component military time into text-form time. The input values look like 6-digit numbers and the output time is printed as English text. The text spells the names of time parts (hours, minutes, seconds) and the numeric values are without padding.
In this example, we enter several military times in different formats as the input and decode them to a 12-hour clock format. Our algorithm removes the "hours" suffix from the military times, adds the zero seconds component, separates all components with a colon, and converts the time to a 12-hour format.
You can pass input to this tool via ?input query argument and it will automatically compute output. Here's how to type it in your browser's address bar. Click to try!

We're Browserling — a friendly and fun cross-browser testing company powered by alien technology. At Browserling our mission is to make people's lives easier, so we created this collection of time and date tools. All our tools share the same user interface, so as soon as you learn how to use one of the tools, you'll be a master of all tools. Behind the scenes, our time and date tools are actually powered by our web developer tools that we created over the last couple of years. Check them out!
