What Is a List Item Wrapper?

This online tool wraps list items in arbitrary text. You can add any word, number, symbol, or emoji, to the left and right sides of all the items in your list. To wrap the items in text, first you need to load the list in input, then select the symbol or regex item split mode, and specify the split symbol or regex itself. For example, if you have a semicolon-separated list, you'll select the symbol split mode and enter the ";" in the split symbol field. Or, if you have a caret- and ampersand-separated list, you'll select the regular expression split mode and enter the regex "[^&]" in the split field. Usually, the text fragment on the left side of the item is called a prefix and the text fragment on the right side of the item is called a suffix. Both texts can be entered in the second block of options using the corresponding text fields for them. In addition, you can remove spaces surrounding items and skip the empty items in the output. Additionally, you can set any join character for the wrapped list in the third block of options. Listabulous!

List of Numbers in Italian

In this example, we place the word "numero " on the left of a list of Italian numbers. The input list contains several different item separators, so we separate them by a regular expression "/[,;]/", which catches both the commas and semicolons. We also trim all list items and display the wrapped list via the pipe character.

uno, due , tre ; quattro , cinque, sei; sette , otto, nove ; dieci
numero uno | numero due | numero tre | numero quattro | numero cinque | numero sei | numero sette | numero otto | numero nove | numero dieci
