This is a super simple browser-based application that removes suffixes at the end of each list item. As soon as you paste a list into the input, the program will immediately remove the suffix specified in the options from each item of the list. You can also delete multiple repeated suffixes, get rid of blank items, clean up any whitespace that's left around items, and set a custom item separator. Created by list geeks from team Browserling.

This online tool removes any trailing text from all list items. The trailing text at the end of a list item is also called a suffix or a postfix. For example, if there's an exclamation mark "!" at the end of each item or each item ends with the word "bye", then these two strings are suffixes and this utility lets you quickly get rid of these (and any other) suffixes. To remove all suffixes from a list, load the list into the input text area and specify the item separator that it uses. If it's a single symbol, then select the character separating mode (and enter that symbol in the options). If it is multiple symbols, then select the regex separating mode (and specify a regular expression in the options). Next, enter the suffix you want to remove in the options and optionally the recursive removal mode. The recursive suffix removal mode will remove repeated suffixes from the items. For example, if you're removing "!" from the items but some items have "!!" or "!!!" at the end, then all these exclamation marks will be removed. If the list uses several different suffixes, for example, half of the items ends with the suffix "!" and the other half ends with the suffix "?", then you can specify both characters in the options and get rid of them at the same time. Multiple suffixes can be specified by entering each one of them on its own line in a vertical column. Once the operation completes, the list without suffixes will instantly appear in the output text area. You can also customize the item separator for the output list, as well as trim all items and remove them if they are empty (either contain nothing or have several repeated space symbols). Listabulous!

In this example, we load a list of weather forecasts and remove the percentage suffix at the end of each item. We split the items by the newline character and put the "\n" as the output item separator. We specify the "%" sign in the suffix-to-remove option and activate the multilevel/recursive suffix removal option to remove two or three accidental percent characters in some of the items. Additionally, we remove empty items and trim the output list.
In this example, we remove the suffix "Cow" from a list of cattle breeds. We switch to the regex item split mode and enter the regex "/;\s*/", which matches a semicolon followed by optional whitespace. We enter the word "Cow" in the suffix option and as soon as we do that, this word gets deleted from the end of all list items. The new list is printed in the output and the cattle breeds are separated by commas.
In this example, we convert a list of plural words into a list of singular words. As some of the words end with the suffix "s" and some others with the suffix "es", we remove both suffixes. We enter "s" and "es" one after another in the option to delete, placing each suffix one per line. We separate the input and output items by the newline symbol and get a list of singular words.
You can pass input to this tool via ?input query argument and it will automatically compute output. Here's how to type it in your browser's address bar. Click to try!
