This browser-based utility removes Zalgo from your Unicode text. All Zalgo-destroyed characters that you paste or enter in the input text area will automatically get cleaned up and you'll get readable text in the output area. It supports all Unicode symbols and it works with emoji characters. You can also let Zalgo partially get away with his destruction by allowing certain destroyed symbols in the output. Created by encoding gurus from team Browserling.

This web application catches the creepy Zalgo and puts it back in its steel cage. As a result, his powers are fading, and calm and harmony are returning to the world. The cursed letters recover and the distorted text acquires its readability again. Algorithmically, this is done by removing all accent marks from the bottom, middle, and top of Unicode characters. For example, the chaotic word "b̸᷿̗͇̈́̓͐ą̷᷊̭ͪ̎̆t̵̫͇̺͐́̚", which was contaminated with more than 10 different combining symbols, such as the right arrowhead ◌͐, short solidus ◌̷, and inverted bridge ◌̺ is quarantined and becomes a neat word "bat". You can let some destructive Zalgo force through the cage by leaving a few diacritic marks in the output. To do this, enter the code positions of the marks separated by commas in the options. For example, if you enter "U+0301, U+0302", then in the output, all combining symbols will be deleted, except these two (acute mark U+0301 and circumflex mark U+0302).

In this example, we chase Zalgo and his vicious friend Slenderman away. As they are forced to run, they take all their chaos marks together with them. The creepy and distorted unreadable word turns into a pleasantly readable word "ghost".
In this example, we did not completely defeat Zalgo but reduced his strength to only two combining characters. To do this, we entered two comma-separated code points (CP) in the options. The CP "U+030b" is a double acute accent ◌̋ and the CP "U+032c" is a caron character ◌̬. Thus, in the output, Zalgo was able to cause destruction with only these two symbols.

We're Browserling — a friendly and fun cross-browser testing company powered by alien technology. At Browserling we love to make people's lives easier, so we created this collection of online Unicode tools. Our tools are focused on gettings things done and they have the simplest possible user interface. As soon as you load your Unicode data in the input of any of our tools, you'll instantly get the result in the output. Behind the scenes, our tools are actually powered by our web developer tools that we created over the last couple of years. Check them out!
