Simple and free online TSV column unquoter. Just paste a TSV table and clean quotation marks from the needed columns. You can remove one or more quote characters from all columns, selected columns, or column ranges. You can also trim extra spaces before and after unquoting, and enable recursive unquoting to remove nested quote layers. Created by programmers from team Browserling.

This online tool dequotes TSV cells. It can remove multiple quote types at once in one or more columns. For example, if the first column uses double quotation marks " and the second column uses single quotation marks ', then just enter both quotes in the "Unquote Marks" option, and they'll both get deleted. If you want to clean only certain columns, specify their ordinal numbers in the "Columns to Unquote" option. Supported formats are individual columns, such as "1, 3, 5", a range of adjacent columns, such as "1-6", or a combination of both formats, such as "2, 4, 6-8". If you want to unquote all input columns at once, simply enter the asterisk symbol "*". To get rid of unwanted spaces in the TSV cells, use the trimming options. The "Trim Input" mode removes spaces before unquoting, and the "Trim Output" option removes spaces after a cell has been unquoted. If your TSV columns contain multiple layers of quotation marks, activate the "Recursive Unquote" option. It applies the unquoting algorithm several times until all the quotes that you specified are removed. Tsv-abulous!

In this example, we unquote a TSV file with the periodic table of elements. The tab-separated values use regular double quotes, so we enter the symbol " in the "Unquote Marks" field. To clean all the columns at once, we enter the star symbol * in the "Columns to Unquote" option, which matches all columns of the input file.
This example uses two different quote characters in TSV cells. In the second column, it's the asterisk symbol, and in the third column, it's the single quote symbol. To dequote the 2nd and 3rd columns, we enter their numbers in the columns field and specify both characters * and ' in the quote marks field. We also activate the trim input option to remove unwanted spaces before unquoting.
The sales table in this example was damaged by cosmic rays, and the third column got several layers of extra quotation marks added around it. The second column got hit too, and double quotes changed to the ~ symbol in the last row. To undo the damage and clean up the file and remove both external and internal layer quotation marks, we activated the "Recursive Unquote" option and entered all quote symbols in the options. We also cleared the values from extra spaces before and after dequoting. To do the job, we specified the range of columns 2-3 in the options and left the first column unchanged, as it wasn't damaged.
You can pass input to this tool via ?input query argument and it will automatically compute output. Here's how to type it in your browser's address bar. Click to try!

We're Browserling — a friendly and fun cross-browser testing company powered by alien technology. At Browserling, we love to make developers' lives easier, so we created this collection of online TSV tools. Our tools have the simplest user interface that doesn't require advanced computer skills and they are used by millions of people every month. Behind the scenes, all our TSV tools are actually powered by our programming tools that we created over the last couple of years. Check them out!
