Simple and free online TSV table transposer. Just paste Tab Separated Values (TSV) into the form below, and this tool will flip the table so rows become columns and columns become rows. You can ignore comment-prefixed lines and pad incomplete TSV rows with blank cells or custom placeholder text. Created by programmers from team Browserling.

This online tool transposes Tab Separated Values (TSV) data. It converts rows into columns and columns into rows by swapping each cell's row and column coordinates. For example, a TSV table with products listed down the rows and months listed across the columns can be transposed into a table with months listed down the rows and products listed across the columns. The transposition happens across the main diagonal: diagonal cells remain in place, and non-diagonal cells move to their symmetric positions. The TSV grid also gets opposite dimensions after transposition; for example, a 3-by-6 table becomes a 6-by-3 table. The tool ignores empty lines, can omit comment lines by a prefix that you specify in the options, and can pad incomplete TSV rows with blank cells or custom placeholder text so every value keeps its correct position in the transposed output. Tsv-abulous!

This example transposes a one-row TSV with clothing sizes. The input stores the sizes horizontally as a 1-by-5 table. After transposition, it becomes a 5-by-1 table, with each size on its own output line.
In this example, we transpose a compact TSV map for a letterpress type tray. The input includes slot IDs, case levels, typefaces, and ink tones in four vertical fields. After the table is transposed, each field name starts a row and the tray entries run across the table as tab-separated cells.
In this example, we transpose a lab sample TSV file with uneven row counts. We turn samples into columns and measurements into rows. We skip the blank line and the comment line that begins with "#" before transposition. Also, we use the custom placeholder text "missing" for trailing missing cells so each measurement keeps its correct position.
You can pass input to this tool via ?input query argument and it will automatically compute output. Here's how to type it in your browser's address bar. Click to try!

We're Browserling — a friendly and fun cross-browser testing company powered by alien technology. At Browserling, we love to make developers' lives easier, so we created this collection of online TSV tools. Our tools have the simplest user interface that doesn't require advanced computer skills and they are used by millions of people every month. Behind the scenes, all our TSV tools are actually powered by our programming tools that we created over the last couple of years. Check them out!
