This tool randomly picks one or more items from the given items. For example, you can pick a number from a list of numbers, or you can pick a string from a list of strings, or you can pick a name from a list of names. You can even use this tool to pick winning entries. If you input all the winning entries on the left, you can choose a winner easily and it will be shown on the right. If you're picking multiple items, then for your convenience, we've added an option to change how items get separated. For example, you can display the picked items in a vertical column or a horizontal line. If it's a vertical column, then the items have to be delimited by the character "\n". If it's a line, then they can be separated by a comma, period, space, or any other symbol. As our program can be adapted to the input format of any list, you can specify which element separator is used in the original list. Usually, it's a newline "\n" or a comma ",". In the options, you can also specify the exact number of items to be selected and choose whether to allow the same item to be selected more than once. You can also activate the "Skip Empty Items" option to make sure that no empty element is selected in the output (an empty element is such an element that contains only the whitespace characters). Randomabulous!

This example randomly picks one number from a list of ten numbers. To adapt to a vertical list of numbers, it uses the newline character "\n" as the input delimiter and to prevent empty lines from being picked in the output, it enables the "Skip Empty Items" mode.
This example randomly selects two names from a list of names. In order to avoid selecting the same name twice, it turns off the option to allow repetitions, resulting in always getting two unique names in the output.
In this example, we load ten different strings in the input list and make this tool randomly pick five different strings, allowing repetitions. All randomly selected lines are separated by a comma and displayed in one line.
You can pass input to this tool via ?input query argument and it will automatically compute output. Here's how to type it in your browser's address bar. Click to try!

We're Browserling — a friendly and fun cross-browser testing company powered by alien technology. At Browserling we love to make peoples' lives easier, so we created this collection of online random tools that is now enjoyed by millions of casual users. Our tools don't require advanced computer skills as each tool does exactly what it says and nothing more. Behind the scenes, our random tools are actually powered by our web developer tools that we created over the last couple of years. Check them out!
